Who We Are

Since 1953, JUGS has provided funding to organizations throughout the United States and the Bahamas that are committed to improving the lives of children.  In addition, JUGS International Chapters have collectively awarded more than $1.5 million dollars in scholarships.

Each year an international scholarship is presented to a deserving student.  Concerned with the rising costs of higher education, JUGS International, Inc. established a scholarship fund in 2005 for the purpose of expanding the awards to four year scholarships.

Other charitable activities include:

  • Funding the installation of swimming pool for a youth facility.
  • Purchasing group homes for abused and neglected children.
  • Contributing more that $150,000 to summer youth employment programs.
  • Purchasing cars and vans to transport children.
  • Purchasing school uniforms.
  • Providing food to needy families.
  • Providing toys to needy children.
"The women in the other communities could decide to raise some money and roll over and ask their husbands to write a check.  We were all just working women trying to raise our families."

      Josephine Bridges

Since their days at Manassas, Sarah Chandler and Josephine Bridges have been friends.  Over 50 years ago, they founded JUGS as a charitable group for working women.  Chandler was a retired educator and Bridges then worked in the music industry.
